I have an internal "house" that has many rooms and it is within these rooms that I find my inspiration to paint. A creative process begins there that leads to the emergence of a "character" - imaginary, at first, but eventually someone I come to know very well. Some of the characters have curious shapes and bold black lines. Others are intensely emotional, awash with brash reds or pensive gray-greens. They are very tactile with the various types of paper I've made and adhered. I enjoy achieving a degree of artistic seduction. That is, painting an intriguing character that you want to know more about - who they are, what they are, what their story is.
